About the role
Job Purpose
Create capable alternate sources, improve supplier performance and reduce cost for fabricated and manufactured parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop suppliers for fabricated, welded and machined-fabricated parts
- Develop alternate sources for critical components
- Manage RFQs, comparisons, techno-commercial evaluation and negotiations
- Assess supplier machinery, welding, quality, capacity and lead-time capability
- Analyse drawings, materials, manufacturing processes and component costs
- Coordinate prototypes, inspection, validation and production supply
- Conduct supplier visits and track development actions to closure
